Scleritis / Episcleritis

Inflammation of the white coat of the eye is a rare but painful condition. It can be associated with underlying connective tissue disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. Screening tests may be required to diagnose underlying conditions and treated appropriately. Epi-scleritis is a much less severe condition and usually affects otherwise healthy individuals.

Both conditions can be recurrent but are treatable.
