Ectropion / Entropion
Eye lid tissues loses their elasticity with age and can result in rolling of the eyelid inwards (entropion) or outwards (ectropion).
Entropion can be associated with pain and eye discharge due to eye lashes rubbing over the cornea resulting sometimes resulting in corneal damage and blurred vision.
Ectropion on the other hand is due to everted lid resulting in poor drainage of tears causing eye watering, corneal exposure and risk of infection.
Entropion and ectropion are correctable with surgery under local anaesthesia.
